I know nothing about horror

I was 12 when I saw my first horror films — Evil Dead, I Spit on Your Grave, The Omen and Nightmares in a Damaged Brain — back to back. Omen and Evil Dead were cool, the other two were nauseating. I never saw any horror after that.

At the beginning of 2011, I decided to work my way through this cultural blind spot. This is an ongoing diary of that ride. If you are a noob like me and decide to dip your toe in this bloody pool, I hope these reviews are useful to you. If you are a true fan of the genre, there’s nothing here you don’t already know. And if my posts annoy you, well, I know nothing about horror.

How could you give 3 to X and 4.25 to Y?
Try to see how they do with other movies in their respective subcategories, however ill-defined they may be. It’s possible that 2.75 is the highest any movie has got in Radioactive Zombie Slasher category, so if your favorite ZSC got 2.25, that’s actually quite impressive.

How could you give 3 to XYZ? It’s a stone cold classic.
I am unburdened by horror history so I rate them as I see them.
